Greystone Daou Vineyards & Winery Event

Greystone Prime Steakhouse & Seafood cordially invites you to join us for a fantastic wine dinner featuring one of Paso Robles’ premiere wineries. We will be showcasing four of DAOU’s best wines. Daniel Brunner from the winery will be here to teach us all about California’s fastest growing wine region, and the reasons DAOU has influenced the California wine scene. And of course, we will serve a one of a kind four course meal to pair with each wine.

DAOU Chardonnay 2015 $13.33/$10.50(2 Cases)                                 $1.50 per pour

A vibrant and tantalizing nose offers aromas of citrus peel, white peach, nectarine, and lemon meringue pie. Floral and spicy with notes of honeysuckle, nutmeg, and ginger nuances. Lush and smooth on the palate, flavors of pineapple, Asian pear evolve delicately, filling the mouth with tropical essences. Persistent finish leaves lingering spiced pear, melon, and papaya. 7 months in one year French oak.

DAOU Rose 2016 $26.00 (very limited amount in stock)                  $3.71 per pour

This 100% Grenache Rose has a lovely pale apricot color, this traditional, old-world styled Rosé proffers tantalizing aromas of peaches and cream, flan, vanilla crème brûlée and salt water taffy. Secondary layers reveal notes of rose petal and cinnamon; with apricot and orange peel accents. Crisp, light and airy on the palate, ethereal flavors of strawberry, gala apple, papaya and lemon chiffon are accompanied by nuances of peach sorbet, tangelo, rhubarb and pecan. Exceptionally clean, refreshing and persistent finish rounds out this delightful wine, leaving juicy essences of peach, apricot and strawberry.

Pessimist Red Blend 2016 91 Points Jeb Dunnuck $18.50/$14.00(2 Case) $2.00 per pour

(54% Petit Sirah/27% Syrah/19% Zinfandel)

The 2016 Pessimist is a ripe, sexy effort that’s loaded with sweet fruit, licorice, chocolate and hints of oak in its full-bodied, layered personality….it won’t appeal to traditionalists, yet it’s a seriously delicious, mouthful of a wine to drink over the coming couple of years.

DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2015 92 Points Wine Advocate $25.00 (6pk)       $3.57 per pour

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is a classically styled Cabernet with a highly perfumed nose offering black cherry, cassis, anise and black olive, together with notes of plum, graphite, dried herbs, crushed gravel and Oregon blackberry. Powerful, flavors of Boysenberry, blueberry, spicy currant and black plum with accents of sandalwood and toffee. Dark roast espresso, hints of vanilla and lavender potpourri. A continuing evolution of pure fruit flavors is experienced with this wine’s amazingly long and elegant finish.

DAOU Estate “Soul of a Lion” 2014 94-96 Points Wine Advocate $100.00(6pk)           $14.20 per pour

One of the gems in this stacked lineup is the 2014 Soul of a Lion, which is a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated blend that includes 14% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. Aged 22 months in new French oak, this full-bodied, rich, mineral-laced and incredibly textured beauty offers up classic California notes of graphite, coffee bean, ripe black currants and chalky minerality. Drink this full-bore, pedal to the metal effort anytime over the coming 10-15 years (and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it keep for longer either).
