What are Greystone Steakhouse's hours?
We are open 7 days a week from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Happy Hour runs daily from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the bar and lounge. Reservations are recommended, especially on Fridays, Saturdays, holidays and convention weeks. Book a table online.

Do you take reservations?
Yes. Reserve online through our reservations page (OpenTable), on Yelp, or call us at (619) 232-0225 anytime from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
Do I need a reservation for dinner?
We welcome walk-ins when tables are available, but we strongly recommend booking ahead for weekends, holidays, Padres home games and big conventions like Comic-Con. Groups of 10 or more should look at our private dining options.
Does Greystone have a dress code?
Smart casual. There is no strict dress code, but most guests dress for a night out - think collared shirts, blouses and slacks. If you would wear it to a date night or a business dinner, you will fit right in. Athletic wear and flip-flops are not recommended.
Is Greystone pet friendly?
Yes. Dogs are welcome on our patio and outdoor dining area. Water and steak bones are available on request.

Parking & Getting to Greystone
The Gaslamp has one-way streets and busy sidewalks. Here is the easiest way in.
Where should I park for Greystone Steakhouse?
Our top pick is the Horton Plaza Garage at 801 4th Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101 - about a 4-minute walk (800 feet). With Greystone validation, parking is $12. Ask your host or server for a validation ticket. Enter by heading south on 4th Avenue or west on F Street. Full parking guide.
Is there other parking near Greystone?
Yes. Park It on Market at 614 Market Street (corner of 6th and Market) is one block away. Metered street parking is available around the restaurant but fills quickly on weekends and event nights.
Is 5th Avenue closed to cars?
Parts of 5th Avenue are closed to traffic on certain days and hours. Plan to park in a garage and walk the last block - it is faster than circling.
Can Greystone arrange transportation?

How far is Greystone from the Convention Center and Petco Park?

What quality of steak does Greystone serve?
USDA Prime and Certified Angus beef - the top tier of American beef. Our steaks are 21-day dry-aged in house, which concentrates flavor and tenderness, and our cattle are raised hormone- and antibiotic-free. See the dinner menu.
Does Greystone serve Wagyu beef?
Yes, from three origins: Japanese A5 Wagyu from Miyazaki Prefecture, Jack’s Creek Australian Wagyu, and American Wagyu from Snake River Farms. Compare our Wagyu.
What is A5 Miyazaki Wagyu?
A5 is the highest grade Japanese beef can receive, scored on marbling, color, firmness and quality. Miyazaki Wagyu comes from Kuroge Washu (Japanese Black) cattle raised in Miyazaki Prefecture and is known for extreme marbling and a buttery texture. Learn about our A5 Wagyu.
What is Tomahawk Tuesday?
Every Tuesday we serve a 2-course dinner for two: a 35 oz USDA Prime Tomahawk ($160) or a 48 oz Prime Porterhouse ($189), with Caesar or wedge salads, mashed potatoes, wild mushrooms and dessert. Tomahawk Tuesday details.
Does Greystone serve halal meat?

Does Greystone offer private dining?
Yes. We have four event spaces: the Wine Room (fully private, up to 18 guests), the Savoy cocktail lounge (40-65 guests), the Roxy semi-private lower dining room (up to 55 guests) and the Diana balcony (up to 65 guests). Explore private dining.

The restaurant seats 150 guests, and full restaurant buyouts can accommodate up to 200. Partial buyouts are also available. Request a buyout.
Do you have a fully private room?
Yes. The Wine Room seats up to 18 guests at one long table, with a working fireplace and wall-to-wall wine cases - ideal for executive dinners, rehearsal dinners and milestone celebrations.
Is there a chef's table?
Yes. A chef's table for up to 12 guests is available by request in the Roxy, with views of our open kitchen and dry-aging cabinet.
Can I host a cocktail reception?
Yes. The Savoy lounge and the Diana balcony work well for standing receptions and mixers with passed hors d'oeuvres. See cocktail and reception parties.
Do you have AV for presentations?
Yes. A projection screen and AV are available for seated dinners with presentations. Popular for corporate and business dinners and conference receptions.

11 - Our Story
Our Story & Historic Building
Serving the Gaslamp since 1999 inside San Diego's former City Hall.
What historic building is Greystone in?
Our Florentine-Italianate building was built in 1874 by Ralph Granger, expanded in 1887, and served as San Diego's City Hall for 35 years - home to the Police Department, City Council chambers and the city's early mayors. Read our full history.
Was the building a theater?
Yes. In 1923 it became the 323-seat Rivoli Theatre, and later housed the Savoy, the Diana, the Roxy and the Bijou. Our private dining rooms are named after those theaters. The building was restored in 1995 as part of the Gaslamp Quarter preservation.
